Chandrayaan-2 is an Indian satellite which is send on a mission to explore the unchartered south pole of the celestial body by landing a rover.

On September 7, India tried to make a soft landing on to the lunar surface.

However, lander Vikram missed the primary landing site and went for 2nd. The visuals went missing henceforth.

According to ISRO chief K Sivan, communication from Vikram lander was lost and data is still being investigate.

In the event that India succeeds, it will be the fourth nation to arrive on the moon, after the past USSR, US and China, to solidify its place among the world's space-faring countries.

Mission

Chandrayaan-2 mission is an exceptionally mind-boggling mission, which addresses a huge innovative jump contrasted with the past missions of ISRO. It contained an Orbiter, Lander and Rover to investigate the neglected South Pole of the Moon. The mission is intended to extend the lunar logica information through definite investigation of geology, seismography, mineral distinguishing proof and dissemination, surface compound synthesis, thermo-actual attributes of top soil and peice of the questionable lunar climate, prompting another comprehension of the beginning and development of the Moon.
